The Core Belief

What is Islam? (in easy, clear terms)?

Islam is a monotheistic religion centered on one core idea: There is only one God (Allah), and life is about worshiping Him and living righteously.

At its heart, Islam teaches:

  • One God (Allah) – No partners, no intermediaries
  • Prophets – Including Adam, Noah, Abraham, Moses, Jesus, and finally Prophet Muhammad.
  • Revelation – Especially the Qur’an, believed to be God’s final message.
  • Day of Judgment – Everyone is accountable for their actions.

The 5 Main Practices (Pillars of Islam)

These are the basic acts every Muslim tries to follow:

  1. Shahada (Faith) – Saying and believing: “There is no god but Allah, and Muhammad is His messenger.”
  2. Salah (Prayer) – Praying 5 times a day to stay connected to God.
  3. Zakat (Charity) – Giving a portion of wealth to the poor.
  4. Sawm (Fasting) – Fasting during the month of Ramadan.
  5. 5. Hajj (Pilgrimage) – Visiting Makkah once in a lifetime if able.
